§ 18-19. Repair or replacement of defective sewers by special assessment.

In case the sewer constructed in any street or part thereof is in an improper or defective condition or fails to conform to the requirements of the official sewerage system or such system as modified or changed by ordinance of the common council and for these or any other reasons any such sewer shall be condemned by the common council, the common council shall require and order a sewer to be constructed in said street in conformity with such official sewerage system or such system as so changed or modified and the same notices shall be served and the same steps and proceedings be had and taken relative thereto and the defraying and assessment of the expense thereof as in the case of other sewers ordered by the common council without petition or consent of property owners.
