§ 5-29. Compliance with National Electric Code; certificate of approval required to conceal wiring.

  • No electric lighting or installation of electric apparatus for furnishing light, heat or power or for the transmission of electric current for any purpose shall be introduced or placed in any building or structure or erected, constructed, installed, maintained or used for any purpose whatever in said city except in compliance with the rules and regulations of the National Board of Underwriters known as the National Electric Code. No such electric wiring apparatus or appliances shall be covered from view or placed in service until the same shall have been examined and tested by the electrical inspector and a certificate of approval of the same has been issued by him.
