§ 6-7. Condemnation of more land than necessary.

Latest version.
  • This act [chapter] shall be deemed to authorize the city of Syracuse at its option to take more land and property than is needed for actual construction in laying out, widening, extending or relocating parks, public places, highways or streets; provided, however, that the additional land and property so authorized to be taken shall be no more than sufficient to form suitable building sites, abutting on such park, public places, highway or street, and that the cost of such additional land and property shall be a general city charge, to be met as prescribed by the common council and the board of estimate and apportionment. After so much of the land and property has been appropriated for such park, public place, highway or street as is needed therefor, the remainder may be sold or leased by the city of Syracuse, and all moneys realized from such sales or leasing shall be used to retire any bonds issued by the city of Syracuse to meet the costs of said additional land and property.
