  • In order to demonstrate the degree to which the city of Syracuse's government workforce reflects the area's labor force, the following analysis of the city's population, total labor force, and unemployed population is presented. Also included is a breakdown by occupational area of employed women and minority group members.

    The term "minorities" refers here to persons of non-white designation, including the categories Black, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islanders and others; the term also includes persons of Hispanic origin who are not included in the non-white categories.
