§ 20-32. Authority of city to sell water to G.E.'s "electronics park" plant; terms and conditions of same.

  • The city of Syracuse is authorized to sell and deliver to the plant of the General Electric Company known as "Electronics Park" in the town of Salina, northwest of the city and northeast of the village of Liverpool, and to the Orville-Lyndon Water Districts in the town of Dewitt, and East Genesee Water District in the town of Manlius, east of the city, subject to the approval of the water power and control commission heretofore or hereafter granted in accordance with the provisions of the conservation law, water from the city's Skaneateles water supply system, if any, not required by the inhabitants of the city, on such terms and conditions and at such rate or rates as the common council of the city, with the approval of the board of estimate, fix and determine. The sale of said surplus water shall be at such rates as the city shall determine to be reasonable compensation for the surplus water sold.

    To carry out the powers above granted said city is authorized to construct and maintain pipe lines or conduits from existing pipes or conduits within or without the city limits to said company and districts outside the city limits and said city shall have and exercise such powers of entry, appropriation, purchase, acquisition and condemnation of lands and the use of highways necessary for such purposes as are enumerated granted it by the provisions of section 1 of this chapter [section 20-26 hereof], and do all things necessary to carry out the above expressed purposes.
